The ILWU-PMA Coastwise Indemnity Plan provides benefits for chiropractic care. Non-Medicare eligible Choice Port Indemnity Plan members must use a PPO chiropractor in order to be eligible for the Plan’s chiropractic benefits.

The Coastwise Plan’s coverage for chiropractic is a maximum of 40 visits per Plan Year (July 1 – June 30), except where the Welfare Plan chiropractic consultant decides additional visits are medically necessary.

California

Non-Medicare eligible Choice Port Indemnity Plan members in California will be covered for chiropractic services only if the services are furnished by a provider affiliated with the Chiropractic Health Plan of California (CHPC) network. Chiropractic services by a CPHC network provider are covered at 100% of PPO charges. Services by out-of-network chiropractors are not covered under the Coastwise Indemnity Plan.

Washington and Oregon

Non-Medicare eligible Choice Port Indemnity Plan members in Washington and Oregon will be covered for chiropractic services only if the services are furnished by a provider affiliated with the First Choice Health Network (FCHN). Chiropractic services by a FCHN network provider are covered at 100% of PPO charges. Services by out-of-network chiropractors are not covered under the Coastwise Indemnity Plan.
